Choosing the Guide to Love

We have seen that there are only two parts of your mind. One is ruled by the ego, and is made up of illusions. The other is the home of the Holy Spirit, where truth abides. There are no other guides but these to choose between, and no other outcomes possible as a result of your choice but the fear that the ego always engenders, and the love that the Holy Spirit always offers to replace it.” (A Course in Miracles W-pI.66.7:2-5)

If we want to find Love, we need to choose the Guide Who offers It. It is very helpful to pay attention through the day which guide we are choosing. Our mood will clearly show us. Love always brings happiness and peace, which is the result of choosing the Holy Spirit as our Guide. Fear or any lack of peace is always the result of choosing the ego as our guide.

Today our practice is to pay attention to whether our thoughts are bringing happiness and peace or fear or lack of peace. We will offer to the Holy Spirit in our minds those thoughts that do not bring happiness for help to see the truth beyond the disturbing false images. This is how we follow the Guide to Love. This is our purpose for today.
