Feeling the Gentle Hand of Christ

Christ’s hand has touched your shoulder, and you feel that you are not alone.

Become the living proof of what Christ’s touch can offer everyone. God has entrusted all His gifts to you. Be witness in your happiness to how transformed the mind becomes which chooses to accept His gifts, and feel the touch of Christ. Such is your mission now. For God entrusts the giving of His gifts to all who have received them. He has shared His joy with you. And now you go to share it with the world. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.166.9:2;15:2-7)

A Workbook lesson tells us that forgiveness is the key to happiness. If we want to know and share God’s joy, we must forgive the world for everything we think it is. The ego always proclaims that nothing in the world is forgivable. Sometimes the ego offers a pseudo forgiveness which still maintains that what needs to be forgiven really happened. This is exemplified by the statement, “forgiven but not forgotten.” As long as we are holding on to a memory of something we believed really happened, it is not forgiven.

When we let the Holy Spirit show us that we really are God’s beloved Son who could never be harmed because we are held eternally safe in God’s Love, we see that no harm happened and we can truly forgive. The ego will never show us this. But the Holy Spirit will bring us to this recognition when we are willing to let go of our perception and let our vision be corrected by the truth. Christ’s vision is the vision of forgiveness. It sees only innocence because it knows that only Love is real. Any other perception is a lie we need to let go.

Today we dedicate to the practice of bringing all our perceptions to the voice of God within with willingness to receive His gentle correction. With this practice, we will feel the gentle hand of Christ. We will experience more deeply the joy that is God’s gift to His beloved Son.
