Giving Our Thoughts to God

Father, I give You all my thoughts today. I would have none of mine. In place of them, give me Your Own. I give You all my acts as well, that I may do Your Will instead of seeking goals which cannot be obtained, and wasting time in vain imaginings. Today I come to You. I will step back and merely follow You. Be You the Guide, and I the follower who questions not the wisdom of the Infinite, nor Love whose tenderness I cannot comprehend, but which is yet Your perfect gift to me. (A Course in Miracles W-pII.233.1)

This prayer is very comforting. To say it and mean it is to have complete release from trying to make and control the world around us. Releasing all our own thoughts that exclude God is how we make way for the recognition that we are in Heaven now. There is no other place we could ever be.

Our practice today is to give all our thoughts to our loving Father. He welcomes them and knows what to do with them. And in return, He gives us His only eternal Thought of Love. This one Thought answers every need we think we have. It returns us to the Truth we are. And we give thanks.
