I Will Step Back and Let Him Lead the Way

He asks but that you think of Him a while each day, that He may speak to you and tell you of His Love, reminding you how great His trust; how limitless His Love. In your Name and His Own, which are the same, we practice gladly with this thought today:

I will step back and let Him lead the way,
For I would walk along the road to Him.

(A Course in Miracles W-pI.155.14)

Here we are told exactly what we need to do if we want to find peace and happiness. Stepping back means letting go of our insistence that we know what anything means. “Letting Him lead the way”  means being willing to let the Holy Spirit inspire us and show us what is true and what is false. This simple practice will bring us out of illusion to awaken fully to the fact that we remain in Heaven, at one with God, as we were created. This is our path to freedom.

This lesson also makes it very clear that it is not only our job to do this practice, but also to demonstrate to all our brothers the message that Holy Spirit is giving us. We bring our brothers with us as we demonstrate the practice of stepping back and letting Him lead the way. This is our only function. This is our way Home.
