Learning We Are Not Alone

Mary:
Holy Spirit, I am willing to be quiet and listen… I am willing to relax all I think I know and let go of tension… I give welcome to your peace and feeling of well-being… I give welcome to a correction in the way I perceive this world I see through the body’s eyes…

I let my mind quiet… I let the veil be lifted to see that the face of Christ is truly everywhere… I let myself be carried to the truth of Love’s oneness… I let myself be carried to the truth that nothing has happened to change God’s one Son…

From this place of opening to the truth, I can laugh at fear thoughts instead of taking them on as if they were real… I soak in the truth that all roads in the world of form are equally unreal… Now trusting in God’s World becomes easier… I see that Reality is simple and uncomplicated… I can relax now and let myself be carried by the truth… There is deep gratitude as I carry this remembrance into my day…

Robert:
The temptation to make decisions on my own seems to be very strong. I slip into it many times a day. I have observed that whenever I do this, I am not at peace. Somewhere in my mind I have decided that there is something I must defend against and I need to make plans to protect myself. This could only come from the part of my mind that identifies with the ego and believes it is separate from Love.

The key word here is “believes.” Beliefs can change. Beliefs change perception but not reality. The moment that I let go of belief that I am separate, the temptation to make decisions on my own disappears because I no longer perceive that I am on my own. The practice of stepping back and letting Holy Spirit guide all my decisions is how I learn that I am not on my own. What I believe is not set in stone and can be changed. I can learn that there is nothing in the world I really want.

Letting Holy Spirit guide all my decisions, including what store to go to to find shelving, becomes a lesson in which I learn that I am not alone. It’s about changing my beliefs. It’s not about the store or the shelving. It’s about the learning that I remain united with my Source. And it may also be about an opportunity for a holy encounter with someone I have never met before.

Today is another joyful day of practicing making no decisions on my own.
