Letting Go of Our Mistaken Judgments

I judge all things as I would have them be.

Judgment was made to be a weapon used against the truth. ²It separates what it is being used against, and sets it off as if it were a thing apart. ³And then it makes of it what you would have it be. ⁴It judges what it cannot understand, because it cannot see totality and therefore judges falsely. ⁵Let us not use it today, but make a gift of it to Him Who has a different use for it. ⁶He will relieve us of the agony of all the judgments we have made against ourselves, and re-establish peace of mind by giving us God’s Judgment of His Son.

Father, we wait with open mind today, to hear Your Judgment of the Son You love. ²We do not know him, and we cannot judge. ³And so we let Your Love decide what he whom You created as Your Son must be. (A Course in Miracles, W-311. See also ACIM Lesson 311 Insights.)

The ego is a symbol of the wish for separation. It needs to perceive external images that it defines as different from itself. This is why the ego thrives on conflict. The perception of conflict justifies judgment.

Within the oneness of God’s Love, nothing external exists. There is nothing to judge. To experience this oneness, we need to disengage from the ego.

The Holy Spirit is always with us. If we are willing to accept His help, He will teach us to recognize that the ego’s wish for specialness can have no effect on our Reality as an extension of God’s Love. He will teach us to let go of all our judgments and help us to accept God’s one judgment that is wholly true: We remain eternally united with our Father in the oneness of His Love.

As we let go of our mistaken judgments, our vision becomes increasingly clear. We quickly dismiss the images that seem to portray separation, knowing they are meaningless. Instead, we see the Love that surrounds us and embraces us. We recognize everyone as part of the one Self we are as God’s one Son. We share our Father’s joy and peace.
