Our Stairway to Heaven

There is no life outside of Heaven. Where God created life, there life must be. In any state apart from Heaven life is illusion. At best it seems like life; at worst, like death. Yet both are judgments on what is not life, equal in their inaccuracy and lack of meaning. Life not in Heaven is impossible, and what is not in Heaven is not anywhere. Outside of Heaven, only the conflict of illusion stands; senseless, impossible and beyond all reason, and yet perceived as an eternal barrier to Heaven. Illusions are but forms. Their content is never true.

How can you know whether you chose the stairs to Heaven or the way to hell? Quite easily. How do you feel? Is peace in your awareness? Are you certain which way you go? And are you sure the goal of Heaven can be reached? If not, you walk alone. Ask, then, your Friend to join with you, and give you certainty of where you go. (A Course in Miracles, T-23.II.19;22:6-13. The “life” we experience in the world is a fake life. It is a self deception based upon the mistaken belief that we have succeeded in separating from the Source of all Life. It is an attempt to make what could never exist appear to be true. And so we seem to live in an illusionary world of forms that we give meaning to because the forms have no content of their own.

This is why most in this world are constantly searching for meaning. A gnawing feeling of emptiness, loneliness and insufficient love seems to be our constant companion. No form in this world can truly satisfy our search, for what we seek cannot be found here.

We have a Guide in our minds Who can show us where to find what we seek. It is always with us, hidden only by false belief. As we learn to follow our inner Guide, we will reconnect with the Light of our true Self within. It will shine away the veil of false beliefs and we will experience our innate peace. This peace is God’s eternal gift to us. We take the stairs to Heaven’s peace each time we let our inner Guide help us let go of a false image, a false belief, that has hidden Heaven from our awareness.

Today is a day of opportunities to take steps toward Heaven and the peace of God.
