Our Safety Lies in Our Defenselessness

Today our theme is our defenselessness. We clothe ourselves in it, as we prepare to meet the day. We rise up strong in Christ, and let our weakness disappear, as we remember that His strength abides in us. We will remind ourselves that He remains beside us through the day, and never leaves our weakness unsupported by His strength. We call upon His strength each time we feel the threat of our defenses undermine our certainty of purpose. We will pause a moment, as He tells us, “I am here.” (A Course in MIracles W-pI.153.19)

My practice for today is to be willing to let peace take charge of my mind. I choose the strength of peace instead of the weakness of thoughts that come from fear and conflict. I practice following where peace leads me. I accept my inner Teacher’s help in every circumstance. I realize that my safety lies in my defenselessness. My practice is in each now moment, and I give thanks for the help I receive.

Whenever I feel vulnerable or uncertain, I can call upon the strength of God in me. As I pause to accept this strength, I will feel Its Presence which tells me, “I am here.” What could be more assuring and comforting than to know that the strength of God is in me? As I call upon this strength, the seeming need to defend fades away as I remember that I remain in the safety of God’s Love.
