Receiving and Extending God’s Peace

No one can fail to find [peace] who but seeks out its conditions. God’s peace can never come where anger is, for anger must deny that peace exists. Who sees anger as justified in any way or any circumstance proclaims that peace is meaningless, and must believe that it cannot exist. In this condition, peace cannot be found. Therefore, forgiveness is the necessary condition for finding the peace of God. More than this, given forgiveness there must be peace.

Stop for a moment now and think of this: Is conflict what you want, or is God’s peace the better choice? Which gives you more? A tranquil mind is not a little gift. (A Course in Miracles, M-20.3:2-6;4:6-8)

Today we practice forgiving that which was never real. As Course students, we learn that only Love is real. Today we open to the Holy Spirit’s guidance to show us how to look past illusions and see the eternal Love that is ever present.

The Holy Spirit knows how to free us from the thoughts of conflict and judgment that show up in the ego’s thought system of seeing differences and separation. The Holy Spirit lifts us up and helps us rise above the battlefield where conflict reigns. As we rise above to see the Love, peace fills our awareness… We are willing to receive God’s peace and extend it everywhere…
