Seeing the World Through Holy Spirit’s Eyes

This is salvation’s keynote: What I see reflects a process in my mind, which starts with my idea of what I want. From there, the mind makes up an image of the thing the mind desires, judges valuable, and therefore seeks to find. These images are then projected outward, looked upon, esteemed as real and guarded as one’s own. From insane wishes comes an insane world. From judgment comes a world condemned. And from forgiving thoughts a gentle world comes forth, with mercy for the holy Son of God, to offer him a kindly home where he can rest a while before he journeys on, and help his brothers walk ahead with him, and find the way to Heaven and to God.” (A Course in Miracles W-pII.325.1)

Today my practice is to recognize that the images I see through the body’s eyes are projections that are coming my mind. My practice today is to see these images through the eyes of the Holy Spirit. In this way I am able to see the real world. I am able to experience gentleness and kindness. I am able to extend Holy Spirit’s peace instead of the ego’s fear. What an important function I have today as I consistently practice stepping back and letting Holy Spirit lead the way.


The process of projection described in this paragraph from the ACIM Workbook is done unconsciously. So it seems like I have nothing to do with what I see through the body’s eyes. The Course is teaching me how to choose another Guide for seeing that does not use the body’s eyes. It is through this inner Vision with the Holy Spirit that I see the truth beyond the projected images.

As I am willing to accept and trust this inner Vision, I release the world from my projections, my judgments. It is through this inner vision with the Holy Spirit that I forgive, making way to remember that I am still at Home in God’s Love. Today my focus is on opening my mind to my inner vision with Holy Spirit.
