The ego is the idea of being separate and therefore entirely on its own. Being on its own, it must rely on its own devices to make a seeming defense that will keep it safe, having denied the safety of Love. If I align with the ego, believing it is me, I will believe that I need to make plans for my safety. The temptation to make plans on my own is the inevitable effect of believing I am on my own. Fortunately, belief does not make reality, though it can make illusions seem real. Holy Spirit, help me to let go of my “daily planner” mentality. I know that Your plan always leads me to perfect peace and quiet joy. I would follow Your plan today. Today is a day for me to practice deciding that I know nothing on my own.
