We Don’t Need to Defend Against Illusions

Forget not, when you feel the need arise to be defensive about anything, you have identified yourself with an illusion. And therefore feel that you are weak because you are alone. This is the cost of all illusions. Not one but rests on the belief that you are separate. …For it is your unwillingness to overlook what seems to stand between you and your brother that makes it look impenetrable, and defends the illusion of its immovability. (A Course in Miracles, T-22.V.6:1-4,8)

Today our practice is to remember that what we are seeing through the body’s eyes is illusion. What we see and the meaning we give it is coming from our mind. The body itself is an illusion and can only show us illusions.

Today we let the Holy Spirit help us see past illusions to the truth that only Love is there. With this comes the remembrance that we need not defend against illusions. In truth we are safe, we are innocent, we are loved, we are Home. There is nothing to fear. This awareness comes as we practice remembering that we don’t need to defend against illusions.
