Dairy Aisle Miracle

One never knows when an opportunity to experience a miracle might arise. Many years ago when I first began studying A Course in Miracles, I woke up one day and, as usual, picked up my ACIM Workbook. The lesson for that day was Lesson 34. (W-pI.34) “I can see peace instead of this.”

As usual, I wanted to experience the fullness of this lesson so I looked it up in Kenneth Wapnick’s book, called, “Journey through the Workbook,” which basically states that I can choose to “see” peace instead of what I am seeing (in my mind) at the moment. I continued on with my day, making sure to pay extra attention to anything that made me feel uncomfortable since that usually is a signal for me to pause and question what is happening in my mind.

I kept that lesson in mind throughout the rest of the day, which included a late stop at the grocery store. As I got everything on my shopping list, I remembered I also needed some cheese. As I made my way towards the dairy aisle, I began looking through the refrigerated section to find what I was looking for. I stood about one foot away from the section while scanning the shelf, when a lady managed to pass right in front of me and almost knocked me over! There was no “excuse me” or “pardon me.” She just walked right on through.

I was so upset! Am I invisible?!  I wondered. This woman could have gone behind me but instead chose this tiny space in front of me to walk through.

Steaming with anger, I turned around to face the apples counter on the opposite side. As I usually do when triggered, I allowed myself to fully experience the emotion throughout my body. In this case, it was anger. I then closed my eyes, thought of the Holy Spirit’s presence and then said, “I can see peace instead of this.”

I stayed with whatever I was experiencing as I took several slow and steady breaths. After several moments, I felt surprisingly calm again. I also felt extremely grateful not only for feeling profoundly peaceful, but I was also grateful for the lady that squeezed past me.

What an angel for helping me experience this miracle healing of anger I was not aware of!
I then silently sent her well wishes to her and her family.

I then walked back slowly to the dairy aisle to finish my selection process. Again, I was about one foot away from the refrigerator, when yes, you guessed it! Another woman walks in front of me, almost knocking me down.

That instant however, I stayed perfectly still, noticing only calmness. I was so taken by this experience that I turned around looking at those beautiful apples again, only this time, with tears in my eyes.

I felt so grateful knowing that the Holy Spirit sent another angel to confirm that a healing did indeed occur!
