Make Way for Happiness

When I allow myself to rest in God, I accept perfect happiness. God’s Will for me is perfect happiness. When I look for something in the world to make me happy, for circumstances to be to my liking or anyone to behave the way I think they should, I am denying God’s Will for me. I’m choosing fantasy over truth. Sometimes this choice may bring me something I think I want and I may think I am happy because of it. But because it is a fantasy, it can never last.

My true happiness comes from within because the Love of God is in me. It cannot be found outside because there is nothing outside. Today I will be mindful of when I am looking outside of me for satisfaction or happiness. When I recognize this I will bring that thought to the Holy Spirit and ask His help to see the truth beyond the mistaken idea. This is how I will let go of the grievances that come with thinking I have not found happiness in the world. This is how I make way for the perfect happiness that is God’s Will for me.

I make way for happiness when I am willing to open to the Holy Spirit’s blessings in the present moment. The Holy Spirit is always there waiting to bring me out of the illusions of separation to the truth. Each present moment is another opportunity to accept help from the Holy Spirit. This is my practice for today.
