We Share One Life

Father, our Name is Yours. In It we are united with all living things, and You Who are their one Creator. What we made and call by many different names is but a shadow we have tried to cast across Your Own reality. And we are glad and thankful we were wrong. All our mistakes we give to You, that we may be absolved from all effects our errors seemed to have. And we accept the truth You give, in place of every one of them. Your Name is our salvation and escape from what we made. Your Name unites us in the oneness which is our inheritance and peace. Amen. (A Course in Miracles W-pI.184.15)

Today is a day for remembering that we all share equally in the one Mind of God. In truth there are no differences. My job today is to hand over all my belief in differences to the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit That undoes all illusions.

I cannot do this on my own. I need not keep these mistaken thoughts of separate identities. My freedom lies in not keeping them, but handing them over for a complete thought reversal. This is what brings me happiness. This is what brings me peace. And I give thanks.

It’s interesting to observe that some of my judgments seem to bring comfort. For example, if I hear someone expressing political views I agree with, I will listen. But if someone is expressing political views I disagree with, I’ll tune them out or switch channels.

In my quest to heal my mind, I am more likely to recognize the disturbance I feel by opposing political views and bring that disturbance to the Holy Spirit for help in seeing as Love sees. This is helpful, but it’s not enough.

I am less inclined to bring my judgments about agreeable political views to the Holy Spirit to ask for help in seeing as Love sees. Yet if I am singling out one view over another, I am still choosing separation’s perception of differences over the oneness that Love sees. If I truly want to awaken from the dream of separation, I must hold back no judgment from Love’s gentle correction.

My function is to see everyone as Love’s extension whether or not I agree with their political views. So today is another day to practice bringing all my perceptions to the Holy Spirit for help in seeing as Love sees.
