Today We Let Holy Spirit Be in the Driver’s Seat

The world we see is the result of a wish to have a will we could call our own, to do it our way. We wanted to be in the driver’s seat. But when we are in the driver’s seat doing it our way, we really go nowhere and what we experience does not bring us lasting happiness. We are on a seemingly endless journey, trying to find the Love that we seem to have lost.

Fortunately, we have available to us the means to find our way back to Love. When we accepted the wish to have our own will, we were given the means to remember that our real Will is the Will we share with God. It is the Will of Love. The means to find our way back is the Holy Spirit. To remember the Love we are, we need to bring the Holy Spirit out of the back seat and put Him in the driver’s seat. He is not deceived by our wild imaginings and will take us along the way that returns us to our Home in Love. We just need to let Him be the driver.

Today our practice is to step back from trying to control our experience in the world and turn it over to the Holy Spirit, with willingness to let Him be in charge of all our doing. When Love leads the way, judgment falls away, fear has no place and we welcome with quiet joy the Love that is given to us without limit in each moment. Today we let Holy Spirit be in the driver’s seat.
